Lewiston Morning Tribune Sat., June 1, 1946 Peter B. Pratt Taken By Death Peter Burley Pratt, 85, Lewiston, resident for the last 25 years, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 3:15 p.m. yesterday after a three-week illness. He was a retired farmer residing at 2328 Eighth avenue. Mr. Pratt was born in Union City, Ind., Oct. 23, 1861. He was a direct descendant of the Harlan family of Indiana and Minnesota. He moved to Nebraska with his parents in 1876 and in 1888 came west and located at Mead, Wash. His marriage to Mary Rosena Evans was solemnized in 1887. Mrs. Pratt died seven years ago. In 1889 he homesteaded in the Russell ridge area north of Nezperce. Mr. Pratt is survived by four daughters, Ivy Pratt, at home; Mrs. I. B. Allen, Clarkston; Mrs. Cecil Glasby, Spokane, and Mrs. Carl Altenburg, Orofino; five grandchildren, Mrs. D. M. Plunkett and Carol Allen, Clarkston; Mrs. A. E. Peachey, Spokane; Mrs. Paul Flinn, Lewiston, and Harvey Allen, with the armed forces; also seven great-grandchildren. He was a communicant of the Seventh-Day Advent church. He was employed for nine years as caretaker at the Lewis-Clark hotel until his final retirement. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 from Brower-Wann chapel with the Rev. F. M. Oliver as officiant. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery. |
