Lewiston Morning Tribune Sunday, September 14, 1919 Pioneer To Long Rest. William W. Wright Passed Away Thursday at Sweetwater. On Thursday, September 11, at Sweetwater, there occurred the death of one of the best known and most highly respected north Idaho pioneers when William W. Wright passed away. Mr. Wright was born May 6, 1839, in Marion county, Indiana. He came to Latah county, Idaho, 40 years ago and for a period of 20 years resided near Kendrick. He later moved to Kendrick in Nez Perce county and then to Sweetwater. He had served as justice of the peace and in other positions of public trust and was esteemed by all who knew him. The deceased is survived by Mrs. Wright and the following children: S. A. Wright, Sweetwater; N. T. Wright, Spokane; Mrs. R. L. Ralston, 911 11th avenue, Lewiston, and W. W. Wright, Jr., of Gifford. Sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him. All children and nearly all of the grand children were present at the funeral which was held at Gifford from the Christian church, Rev. Nelson officiating. Large numbers of friends from all sections of the country were present to honor the memory of the deceased and there were many beautiful floral offerings. |
