Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, April 21, 1925 L. F. Williams Dead Funeral Will Be Conducted at Grave This Afternoon. L. F. Williams, a well-known resident of Lewiston for the past 25 years, died Sunday evening at Orofino of complications incident to old age. The body will arrive this morning from Orofino and burial will be had today at 4 p.m. with funeral services being said at the grave by Rev. L. C. McEwen of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Williams was born near Salem, Ore., 76 years ago. He came in the early '90's to Moscow, where he was in the banking business for a number of years. He moved to Lewiston in 1900. He had lived a retired life for a number of years. Mr. Williams had not been in good health since the death of his wife several years ago. He was well and favorable known to a wide circle of friends, who will be grieved to hear of his death.
Spokesman-Review Lewiston Pioneer Is Buried "Lafe" Williams, Banker and Mine Operator, Laid at Rest. Lewiston, Idaho, April 21 - The funeral of L. F. (Lafe) Williams, age 76, who died yesterday at the state hospital at Oro Fino, was held here today. Mr. Williams a number of years ago was a prominent citizen of the Inland Empire. He was a pioneer banker of Moscow and was active in politics. About 20 years ago he acquired the Black Lead mine a copper prospect in the heart of the Bitter Root mountains, about 20 miles from Lolo pass, and since had spent every summer there. |
