Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, February 7, 1931 Culdesac Garage Man Expires In Lewiston John Williams, a well known citizen of Culdesac, where he conducted a service station and garage, and formerly engaged in farming in the Pomeroy section, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital at 8:30 a.m. yesterday from an illness of several months. Mr. Williams was treated for liver complaint two months ago and his condition was thought improved but for the last couple weeks he grew steadily worse and on Thursday was brought to Lewiston. Married Pomeroy Girl. Born in North Carolina, September 4, 1877, he came west 26 years ago, first living in Oregon. In 1908 he was married to Miss Lillie Gimlin at Pomeroy, who survives together with two children, a son, Vernon Williams, attending the University of Idaho, and a daughter, Phyllis Williams; also three brothers and three sisters, Cyrus Williams, Chesnee, S. C.; James Williams, Inman, N. C.; Joseph Williams, New York City; Mrs. J. K. Smawley, Pullman; Mrs. Lizzie Miller, Rutherfordton, N. C., and Mrs. Martha Alverson, Inman, N. C. Funeral services will be conducted from the Brower-Wann chapel at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, interment to be in Normal Hill cemetery. |
