Lewiston Morning Tribune Sunday, September 22, 1929 S. W. Whitford Passes On Lewiston Orchard Resident Succumbs to Illinois (as written) - Here 19 Years. S. W. Whitford, 67, resident of Lewiston Orchards for the past 19 years, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital at midnight last night following a three weeks' illness. He was suffering from congestion of the gall bladder and cancer of the stomach. Mr. Whitford was born at Vermont, New York, February 10, 1863. He came to Lewiston Orchards with his wife and family in 1910, establishing his home on an acreage at Seventh street and Burrell avenue. He had been in poor health for six weeks and was taken to the hospital three weeks ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Whitford, two daughters, Mrs. Mae Shobrook of Spokane and Hattie Whitford of Lewiston Orchards, and a grand-son, Donald Troch Shobrook. Funeral arrangements have not been made. |
