Lewiston Morning Tribune December 24, 1902 Obituary Olof Westendahl died at his home in Lewiston, Idaho at 2 o'clock p.m., December 20, aged 73 years, nine months and eight days. He was born in Sweden, March 12, 1829 and emigrated to the United States in 1868 and located in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a pioneer of South Dakota where he lived six years. From thence he came to North Idaho in 1878 and has lived in the Moscow country ever since, till one year ago, on account of his health he came to Lewiston to reside. His ailments were such, however that climate nor medical skill could do him but little good. Mr. Westendahl was a man who was loved and respected by all who knew him - a loving husband, a kind father, a peacemaker among his fellow men; honorable in all his dealings and a firm believer in the realities of a life beyond. In his death his wife loses a loving husband, the children a good father and the neighborhood an honorable and upright man. |
