Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, September 5, 1905 News of Clarkston Death of Theodore Ward Occurred Yesterday Highly Respected Citizen Interment Will Take Place This Afternoon Clarkston, Wash., Sept. 4 Theodore Ward, for the past six years a prominent and highly respected citizen of this town, passed peacefully away this morning at 12:20 o'clock at his home on Sycamore street. Mr. Ward was down town Friday and arose Saturday morning in his usual good health but was seized in the afternoon with hemorrhage of the brain, gradually failing until he passed away, never regaining conciousness (sic) from the time he was attacked. Mr. Ward was born in Newark, N. J., August 1, 1824, and was therefore in his 82nd year. He moved to St. Louis, Mo., in 1842, traveling the whole distance by stage, and resided there continuously until 1899, when he removed to Clarkston. The deceased leaves a widow and four children, two sons and two daughters, all of whom reside in St. Louis, with the exception of one son, T. S. Ward, who is a member of the J. Alexander Co. in Lewiston but resided with his parents here. Mr. Ward was a man of quiet unassuming disposition, upright and straightforward in all his dealings and highly respected by his friends and neighbors. The remains were taken to Vassar's undertaking establishment in Lewiston. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Presbyterian church in Lewiston. |
