Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, December 19, 1939 Mrs. Louise Walter Is Called By Death Mrs. Louise Walter, 68, widow of Aloise Walter, died at 12:15 a.m. today at St. Joseph's hospital of heart disease. Mrs. Walter was taken ill two weeks ago and when her condition became serious a week later she was removed to the hospital. A native of Alsace-Lorraine, born Sept. 26, 1871, she came to the United States at an early age and 37 years ago came with her husband and children to Lewiston. The family resided on a ranch where the mill of Potlatch Forests, Inc., is located and later moved to a farm on Lindsay creek, her home at the time of death. Mrs. Walter was a member of St. Stanislaus church and active in the affairs of the parish. Survivors include four daughters, Madeline Walter, Mrs. John Zinn, Mrs. Ross Howard and Mrs. Neil Litchfield, all of Lewiston, and her brother, Eugene Gasser, chief of police of this city. The body is at the Vassar-Rawls funeral home. Burial arrangements are pending. |
