Lewiston Morning Tribune Fri., Jan. 11, 1957 Arthur Julius Wallander, 80, died yesterday morning at 3:40 at Tri-State Memorial Hospital. He had been brought to the hospital only a few minutes before death came. Mr. Wallander was born March 13, 1876 in Harlan County, Neb. He came west as a young man, and worked in the paper mills in California for the first year or so. He married Lottie Sanderson in 1902. Mr. and Mrs. Wallander settled in the Walla Walla area and he farmed there for about 11 years. He continued to live at College Place near Walla Walla until 1944 when he moved to Clarkdston. He operated a tract on Clarkston Heights. Survivors include a son, Guy Wallander, of Asotin. Other survivors are three half sisters, Mrs. Mabel Watt of Sacramento; Mrs. Pearl Whitnack of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Inez Neilson of Dinuba, Calif., and one grandson. Funeral services will be in charge of Merchant Funeral Home. |
