Lewiston Teller February 1, 1894 Death of Jessie Wadsworth. The dark angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wadsworth at 10:30 p.m. January 24th, taking there from one of its brightest jewels, sweet little Jessie, who had spent but fifteen short summers on earth. She was a kind and loving child, always ready to obey the wishes of her parents and never tiring or growing impatient at the requests of her brothers and sisters. Her place at the school will always seem vacant and already we have heard it said, she will be sadly missed. The day before she died she sang the song, "The Hand of God on the Wall". But her name is enrolled on a pure and spotless register where she will always be present. Weep not, dear parents, the good shepherd has only removed her from the blighting climes of earth to bloom forever in the paradise above where some day you shall meet again. Rev. W. B. Taylor conducted the funeral services and the body was laid to rest in Upper Tammany cemetery last Friday. Her school class was present to pay their last sad respects to one they all loved so well. The entire community extend the deepest sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth in their great bereavement.
From the cross uplifted high.
Sprinkled now with the blood the throne.
Spread for thee the festal board, G. R. |
