Lewiston Morning Tribune (Lewiston, Idaho) Thursday, March 2, 1922 Death Calls Aged Woman Ship Body of Mrs. Vorhies to Athena, Oregon Nezperce, Mar. 1 - Mrs. Hannah Vorhies, aged 80, passed away last night at the home of her son, Sam Vorhies, with whom she made her home. The body will be shipped to Athena, Oregon, Friday for burial. Her husband and seven children are buried at Athena. Three sons, Joe of Weippe, Sam of Nezperce, and a boy in Montana, and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Mieners of Nezperce, survive. Mrs. Vorhies came to this country several years ago and bought a ranch southwest of Nezperce which she farmed for a number of years. She recently retired and has made her home with her son and his family. |
