Lewiston Evening Teller Tuesday, January 12, 1904 Death Of Truscott Funeral to be Held at Mount Idaho Tomorrow at Two O'clock Word was received In the city last night by Mr. John P. Vollmer that Hon. Matt H. Truscott, the well known Idaho county pioneer, died at his home in Mt. Idaho at 8:30 p. m. Mr. Truscott received a paralytic stroke a few weeks ago and relatives were called to his bedside. He rallied however and for a time it was thought that he would recover, but he received another stroke a week ago from which effects he gradually declined, the end coming peacefully last night. Mr. Truscott came to Idaho county in 1865 and operated in the various mining camps of that county. He removed to Mt. Idaho during 1870, at which place he resided until his death. The deceased lacked a few months of being 59 years of age. In June, 1900. he was united in marriage with Mrs. Carrie Shearer, who survives him. Mr. Truscott was a member of the Masonic lodge, having joined that body during the early eighties. The funeral will be held from the family residence at Mt. Idaho tomorrow at 2 o'clock p. m. Mr. John P. Vollmer of this city left on this afternoon's train for Mt. Idaho to be present at the funeral. Mrs. Vollmer has been at the bedside of the deceased for the past week. Mrs. Truscott is a sister of Mr. Vollmer. |
