Lewiston Morning Tribune Sunday, January 19, 1947 Mattie Tribble Dead; Pioneer Of Gifford Mrs. Mattie Tribble, 68, wife of D. C. Tribble, died at 1:20 a.m. yesterday at the Moscow hospital, friends here have been advised. For many years Mrs. Tribble lived at Gifford where her husband was among the first homesteaders. For the last three and one-half years Mr. and Mrs. Tribble made their home at Moscow. She was born March 20, 1878, in Silver City, Iowa. Like her husband, Mrs. Tribble was active in community affairs in the Gifford area and in the work of the democratic party in her precinct. Mr. Tribble, until moving to Moscow, served many years as justice of the peace. In early days Mr. and Mrs. Tribble owned and operated the hotel at Gifford. Survivors are her husband and one son, W. D. Heath, Spokane. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday from Short's chapel at Moscow with Dr. Wayne Smith as officiant. Interment will be in the Moscow cemetery. |
