Body Of Jack Titus Taken To Walla Walla

The body of Jack Titus, Snake river rancher, was taken to Walla Walla yesterday for cremation. At his request there will be no funeral.

Mr. Titus, who operated a ranch near Pittsburgh landing on the upper Snake river, died Tuesday at a Baker, Ore., hospital of a heart ailment.

He had moved to Durkee, Ore., near Baker, Sept. 20, 1951, after selling his ranch in March. Mr. Titus was born Nov. 1, 1894, at Sumas, Wash. He lived at Sumas and Bellingham until 1912 when he purchased the cattle ranch in the upper Snake river canyon.

He was married July 24, 1916, to Celia Wisenor of Grangeville. The couple lived on the Snake river ranch, raising cattle until 1927 and sheep until last March when they sold the land to Lem Wilson.

Mr. Titus, born Everett Marion Titus but known to his friends as Jack, was operating a ranch near Nyssa and other near Durkee at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
