Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, April 7, 1916 Mrs. Terry Dead Pioneer of Sweetwater Creek Was Victim of Pneumonia. After an illness extending over a period of 35 days, Mrs. Anna Terry, aged 44 years, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital last night at 8:45 o'clock, death being the result of pneumonia. Mrs. Terry was brought to the hospital last Tuesday, and at the time of her arrival was in a very dangerous condition, and from the time it was realized there was but little chance for her recovery. The deceased woman was one of the early settlers of the Webb section of Nez Perce county, taking up a homestead on Sweetwater creek at the time the Nez Perce Indian reservation was thrown open to settlement. Mrs. Terry was a member of the Presbyterian church. Two children survive, Fred and Louis Stephens, who made their home with their mother. She is also survived by three sisters and three brothers, one of the latter being James Chambers, a resident of Orofino. The remains will be shipped to Webb for burial, which will take place Saturday afternoon. [A later paper states that she was buried in the Upper Tammany Cemetery] |
