Lewiston Morning Tribune Sunday, June 21, 1908 Isabella Stevens Dead. A Highly Esteemed Pioneer Lady Has Passed Away. Mrs. Isabella Stevens, wife of David Stevens, deceased, died Saturday morning at her old home, No. 825 Ninth avenue. For some time Mrs. Stevens has been gradually failing and the end came quietly and peacefully. She passed away at the age of eighty-five years, one month and six days. The deceased was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Wooler, of Perth, Scotland. She was born May 14, 1823, and was united in marriage to David Stevens, of Boness, Scotland, April 9, 1844. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens came to American in 1852 and eventually settled in California, where they resided till 1883, at which time they came to Lewiston, where they have since resided. At the age of fifteen Mrs. Stevens became a Christian, uniting with the Presbyterian church. She leaves four sons and two daughters to mourn her loss. She was most highly esteemed by all who knew her. The funeral will be conducted at the Christian church, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. |
