David Stevens, aged eighty-seven years, died last evening at his home on Ninth avenue in this city. He had been gradually failing for some weeks and the end came quiet and peaceful. Mr. Stevens, who was a native of Scotland, came to the Lewiston section in 1882, and has since resided in the Tammany locality and in this city. He was highly esteemed as a worthy citizen. His aged wife and four sons and two daughters survive him. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Christian church.
