Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, December 13, 1918 Alexander Stevens Dead. For Many Years Resident of the Tammany Section. The death of Alexander H. Stevens occurred at Winchester on Wednesday, December 11, due to an acute attack of Bright's disease following influenza. The deceased was 73 years 7 months and 8 days old. Mr. Stevens, who was born in Scotland, coming to the United States when a child, located in the Tammany section southeast of Lewiston 32 years ago, and for years maintained a fine farm there, which he sold six years ago to the Lewiston Orchards company. He then spent a period in the San Diego section of California, but returned to Idaho and located at Winchester. Mrs. Stevens died a number of years ago. The following children survive him. Lou D. Stevens of Juliaetta. Mrs. Isabel McLaughlin of Winchester, E. A. Stevens of Juliaetta, Mrs. Hattie Doyle of Eltonia, Wash.; Ida Davis of Morrowtown, Frank Stevens of Sweetwater, Robert Stevens of Winchester and Mrs. Steve Spengler of Lewiston. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers - Mrs. A. B. Hinman of Lewiston; Mrs. Joe Harvey of Alpine county, Cal.; Thomas Stevens of Winchester and Richard Stevens of Stockton, Cal. The funeral will be held at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the Normal Hill cemetery, conducted by Rev. D. J. W. Somerville. |
