Spokane Daily Chronicle Feb. 1, 1950 Pioneer Resident Called By Death. Lewiston, Idaho, Feb. 1 - Mrs. Harry Springston, pioneer resident of the Peck area, died at an Orofino hospital Sunday after a three-year illness. She was born Augustine Picart near Austin, Texas, February 19, 1866, came west to Fairfield, Wash., in her earl childhood and moved to Central Ridge in 1898. Mrs. Springston attended normal school in Lewiston and taught school near Ruebens and two years at Peck, where she married Henry Springston in August, 1907. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clair Kerby, Grand Coulee, Wash.; two sons, Harold, Peck, and Everett, Lewiston; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Hutchins, Nezperce, and Mrs. A. D. Bean, Spokane, and one brother, August Picart, Longview, Wash. Funeral services were conducted from Vassar-Rawls funeral home today with the Rev. William P. Kole, Culdesac, officiating. Interment was at Normal Hill Cemetery. |
