Lewiston Morning Tribune Wednesday, January 9, 1946 Mrs. Christina Spence Taken; Injured In Fall Mrs. Christina Spence, 80, widow of the Rev. J. H. Spence, and resident of Lewiston for the last 55 years, died at White's hospital at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Spence fell eight days ago and injured her hip, complications arising being the immediate cause of death. Mrs. Spence was a native of Italy, born in 1865, and came to the United States when 25 years old. She immediately traveled west and located at Lewiston. her residence at 2001 G street was continuous since 1890. The late Rev. Spence and his wife were known for their many charities in the early life of this city. Survivors are her sons, Frank Speno, Asotin, and Dr. Louis Speno, Spokane, and two grandchildren. Funeral rites will be conducted Thursday at 10 o'clock from the Vassar-Rawls chapel, with interment at Normal Hill cemetery. |
