Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, August 26, 1947 Sid Sorey, Pioneer Resident, Dead At 78 Sid Sorey, Lewiston resident since 1895, died of a heart attack at an Orofino hospital yesterday. The body was brought to Lewiston to rest at the Brower-Wann chapel pending funeral arrangements. Mr. Sorey was born in Flora, Ill., Aug. 6, 1864, the eldest son of James H. and Elizabeth Ann Sorey. His parents moved to Idaho in 1890 and their son joined them five years later. Until recent years Mr. Sorey followed the trade of painter and decorator and was active in republican politics and the old progressive party. Surviving are his son, Ted Sorey; his daughter, Thelma Loomis, both of Spokane; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ruby Akins and Mrs. Elizabeth W. Peterson, both of Lewiston; Mrs. Nell Pearce, Whittier, Calif.; Daniel Sorey, El Monte, Calif., and four grandchildren. He was a communicant of the Seventh Day Adventist church. |
