Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, April 16, 1949 Otis F. Smith Dead After Heart Attack Otis (Ode) F. Smith, 66, resident of Lewiston for the last 16 years, was stricken with a heart attack Thursday and taken to Asotin County Memorial hospital, Clarkston, where he died yesterday at 6:20 p.m. Mr. Smith was a lineman for the Washington Water Power Co. while living at Lewiston. Prior to that he lived at Spokane and also spent some time farming near Kooskia. He was born June 18, 1882, at Des Moines, Iowa. In 1945 Mr. Smith married Mrs. Ora Chapin at Missoula, Mont. His wife, four sisters, and two stepsons survive. The sisters are Mrs. Rose Johnson, Escondido, Calif.; Mrs. Alice Foster, Portland; Mrs. Grace Johns, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mrs. George W. Drowley, Billings, Mont. Stepsons are Don Chapin and Jesse Chapin, both of Lewiston Orchards. Mr. Smith was a member of the Masonic lodge, a 32d degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Al Beddoo temple of the Shrine, all at Billings. The body is at the Brower-Wann funeral home with arrangements pending. |
