M. L. (Fate) Smith, 83, Summoned By Death

Marion L. (Fate) Smith, 83, resident of Lewiston for the last 40 years, died at the Nez Perce county hospital last night at 10:55 after an illness of several months.

A native of Oak Ridge, Mo., born July 2, 1858, when he came to Lewiston he engaged in the drayage business. For the last 12 years until illness prevented he operated a peanut and pop corn stand on Main street. His only known survivor is his daughter, Mrs. Lulu Dick, Portland.
