Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, June 30, 1923 Mrs. O. Smith, Orofino, Dead Passes at St. Joseph's From Effect of Cancer. Mrs. Kate Smith, 47, wife of Otto Smith, a resident of Orofino, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at St. Joseph's hospital from the effects of a cancerous growth with which she had been troubled more or less for several years. Mrs. Smith arrived at the hospital last February remaining as a patient until the time of her death. Numerous operations had been performed on the estimable woman within the last few years and every possible agency employed to prolong her life. Mr. Smith was at the bedside at the time of his wife's death. The couple removed to Orofino from Canada about three years ago. Funeral services will be conducted this morning from St. Stanislaus church, burial to be in Normal Hill cemetery. |
