John W. Smith Succumbs At 89

John W. Smith, 89, a retired maintenance worker and a native of Nebraska, died yesterday morning at 9:30 at his home, 118 18th St. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mr. Smith was born July 16, 1869, in Nebraska. At the age of 76, on March 2, 1946, he married Ada Raney at Asotin. She survives. He had been active in his later years and fishing in the Clearwater River was his favorite pastime.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.
