David N. Smith, Peck, Is Taken By Death

David N. Smith, 76, Peck, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 10:30 a.m. yesterday after an illness of several weeks. He was a retired railroad worker and farmer.

Mr. Smith was born in Champaign county, Ill., in 1867, and came west in a covered wagon to locate in Washington territory. His marriage to Miss Grace M. Wallis took place at Cheyenne in 1893. Thirty-five years ago the family moved to central Idaho, residing at different towns, including Weippe and Peck, which had been his home for the last eight years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. E. G. McDowell, Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Ernest Munsterman, Myrtle; Mrs. Howard Gilliam, Flora McDowell, Guy McDowell, Marion McDowell and Bonnie Jean McDowell, all of Lewiston, and Mrs. Arthur Bliss, Seattle; also three great-grandchildren, Ray Munsterman, Phyllis Munsterman and Walter Munsterman.
