Charles J. Smith, 85, Former Resident, Dead

Charles J. Smith, 85, formerly of this city, died at the Tacoma hospital Tuesday of infirmities of age and the body is being brought here for funeral services to be held at 2 Saturday afternoon from Vassar-Rawls chapel. The Rev. A. C. Wischmeier will officiate and interment will be in Normal Hill cemetery.

Mr. Smith resided here many years, leaving about 20 years ago to take up his home at Entiat, Wash., and later lived at Buckley, Wash. He owned a drayage line in this city. He was born at Marshall, Mich., Oct. 21, 1863.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Barbara Smith, Buckley, and one son, C. Delmont Smith, Tacoma.
