Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, June 25, 1927 Death of Albert Small Funeral of Idaho Pioneer Today at Tacoma - Died Monday Funeral services for the late Albert Small, Lewiston pioneer sawmill man and brother of the late Ira Small who died Monday at Tacoma at the age of 86 years, will be held today at Tacoma. Mr. Small had been in the state Soldiers' Home near Tacoma and died of old age. Mr. Small was born in 1841 in Ludlow, Maine, and came west to the Walla Walla region in 1870 remaining there for 10 years. In 1880 he removed to the Coeur d'Alene region and a few years later came to Lewiston, going into the lumber and sawmill business with Fred Emery, with the firm name of Small and Emery. Since 1917 Mr. Small has resided on Vashon Island and at and near Tacoma. He was a civil war veteran and a member of the Lewiston G. A. R. for many years, taking part with the Lewiston chapter in parades and appearances. Mr. Small is survived by three sons; Rodney, Seattle; Melville, Pierce; and Albert, in California; and a daughter Mrs. Roy Binnard, in Montana. An adopted son, Arthur, at Tacoma, also survives, and three sisters; Mrs. Sadie Potter, Los Angeles; Mrs. Frank Sandburn, Long Beach; and Mrs. C.? B.? Colby, Orondo, Montana. |
