Lewiston Morning Tribune Wednesday, January 15, 1941 Mrs. Justina Simpson Summoned By Death Mrs. Justina Marcom Simpson, 91 years and 11 months old, died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday of bronchial pneumonia at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Briley, 1018 Eleventh street. A native of Cumberland county, Ky., she was born near Burksville Feb. 18, 1849, and on Sept. 5, 1866, was married to James J. Simpson. Mrs. Simpson came here in August, 1931, to make her home with Dr. and Mrs. Briley. She was the mother of 11 children, six of whom are still living; Mrs. J. C. Briley, Lewiston; Mrs. W. J. Payne, Ellensburg, Wash.; Mrs. Edna Ashinhurst, Livingston, Tenn.; Mrs. Cora S. Payne, Peytonsburg, Ky.; Marvin A. Simpson, Elmwood Place, Ohio; B. L. Simpson, Burkesville, Ky.; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Simpson had been a member of the Methodist church since girlhood. Funeral services will be held at 3 tomorrow from the Brower-Wann chapel with the Rev. Dr. John W. Caughlan as officiant. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery.
