Lewiston Morning Tribune Monday, March 29, 1948 Meningitis Takes Bride Of 2 Weeks Stricken Saturday with what her attending physician diagnosed as spinal meningitis, Mrs. James Showers, 15, a bride of two weeks, died yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's hospital. She was married to Mr. Showers March 12 at Clarkston and the couple made their home at Lewiston Orchards where she was taken ill. Mrs. Showers was born Carol Jean Mundlin at Omaha, Nebr., July 21, 1932. She lived in the middle west and attended school there until a year ago when she moved to the Orchards with her parents. Surviving besides her husband are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mundlin; a sister, Janet and a brother, Gary, at the Orchards and another brother, Lloyd, in Nebraska. Her grandfather, P. L. Day, Lewiston, also survives. Private funeral services will be held at Brower-Wann funeral chapel, tomorrow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. David Brown, Clarkston, officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill cemetery. |
