Patrick Scully Dead; Pioneer Of County

Patrick Scully, 74, Nez Perce county pioneer, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 11:30 o'clock last night of a stomach disorder after a short illness. Since 1939 his home was in Portland but he frequently visited here to care for property interests.

Mr. Skully was born at Barth, Canada, in 1969, and came to Lewiston country about the time of the opening of the Nez Perce Indian reservation. He first worked on Snake river steamers and later farmed at Slickpoo for many years and in 1922 moved with his family to Lewiston. He was employed by the Camas Prairie railroad from 1922 to 1939, the year he retired to locate at Portland. He was a member of the Lewiston council of Knights of Columbus.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Scully, expected to arrive from Portland this morning; two daughters, Miss Bernadette Scully and Mrs. Frank Roberts, both of Portland; his brother, John Scully, Lewiston; and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Hasenoehrl, Lewiston Orchards, and Mrs. Joseph Schumaker, Clarkston, and Mrs. James Hasenoehrl, Culdesac.

The body is at Vassar-Rawls chapel with funeral arrangements pending.
