Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, March 11, 1927 Funeral of Mr. Schiebe Services to be Held from Vassar's Parlors Today. Funeral services for the late August Schiebe, former Lewiston pioneer who died in Spokane Wednesday, will be held from the Vassar chapel at 3 o'clock this afternoon, it is announced. Rev. L. C. McEwen of the Presbyterian church will be charge of the services. August Schiebe was born in Brunswick, Germany, March 1, 1845. He came to the United States at the age of 20 and he settled in Idaho in 1890. He lived in Lewiston with his family until about 12 years ago. Since then he has made his home for the most of the time with his daughters in Spokane. Mr. Schibe was a pioneer contractor and builder in Lewiston and will be remembered by a large number of citizens. One son and four daughters survive him. They are: Frank L., Schiebe, Mrs. John N. Lindsay, Kellogg; Mrs. E. L. Snyder, Spokane; Mrs. A. A. Ball, Bakersfield, Cal., and Mrs. Carl Van Schoorl, Spokane. Interment will be made in the Normal Hill cemetery. |
