Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, January 6, 1948 Margaret Sampson, Pioneer, Dead At 83 Mrs. Margaret E. Sampson, 83, resident of Lewiston for 40 years, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. J. Shelledy, Pullman, according to word received by relatives here. She had been visiting at the home of her daughter for the last five weeks. Mrs. Sampson was born at Oregon City, Ore., Jan. 7, 1864. She was married to Alfred Sampson at Oregon in 1880. Mr. Sampson died at Lewiston in 1942. She was a member of the Christian church. Surviving besides her daughter are four sons, Loy, of San Francisco, Thomas, of Spokane, and Jack and Floyd Sampson of Lewiston, and a half-brother, Fred Markham, San Francisco. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held from Brower-Wann chapel tomorrow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Marvin E. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill cemetery. |
