J. W. Sampson Dead.

Well Known Lewiston Man Was Victim of Pneumonia.

J. W. Sampson, well known Lewiston contractor and president of the bricklayers union, died last night at 9:30 o'clock at the family residence, 1434 Fourteenth street, the cause of death being pneumonia and complications. Mr. Sampson had been in poor health for some time and about a week ago contracted a cold which developed into pneumonia.

Mr. Sampson was a gentleman of fine character and enjoyed the very high regard of a wide circle of friends. He was prominent in labor organizations and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge. He came to Lewiston about twelve years ago with his family and is survived by a wife, two sons and two daughters, the children being; John Sampson, of Moscow; George Sampson and Mrs. Mary Stearns, of Lewiston, and Mrs. Florence Hunter, of Lapwai.

The funeral arrangements will be announced today.
