Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, March 17, 1951 Harry Newton Rook Passes At Spokane Funeral services for Harry Newton Rook, 56, farm worker of Gifford, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 at the Brower-Wann chapel with the Rev. Robert Sweeten officiating. Mr. Rook's death occurred Wednesday at Spokane where he had been under treatment two weeks. He had been in ill health a year. For approximately the last 20 years, Mr. Rook had been in the employ of W. A. Black, retired Gifford farmer now of Lewiston, as a farmhand. He was a bachelor. Born Nov. 22, 1894, at Silver City, Iowa, Mr. Rook first came to the Lewiston area in 1903. He was a member of the Christian church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Iva Butler of Gifford and a half-brother, Dreyfus Heath of Spokane. Burial will be at Normal Hill cemetery. |
