Lewiston Morning Tribune Wednesday, November 30, 1938 Passenger On First Train Here Taken Rex O. Riggle, 59, Lapwai, who arrived in Lewiston on the first railroad train into the city, died yesterday morning at the home of his half-sister, Mrs. Albert Larsen, Lapwai. He had been suffering from heart trouble several months. The body was brought here to the Brower-Wann chapel and funeral services are pending word from relatives. Mr. Riggle had been a resident of central Idaho since his arrival in Lewiston. At one time he had extensive cattle interests in the Salmon river country. He was born in Iowa. Survivors, besides his half-sister at Lapwai, are a sister, Mrs. Eva Newcomber, Sheridan, Wyo., and two half brothers, Hersel Emerich, Lewiston Orchards, and Chauncey Emerich, Tacoma. |
