Lewiston Morning Tribune Tuesday, May 23, 1939 Leland Proper, 64, Lapwai, Victim Of Heart Disease Leland Proper, 64, Lapwai, a resident of Nez Perce county for 45 years, died at 5:15 a.m. yesterday at St. Joseph's hospital of heart disease. He farmed at Lapwai until his retirement several years ago. He was a native of Michigan. He is survived by his son and a daughter, Lester Proper and Mrs. Thelma Simmons, both of Lewiston; his sister, Mrs. John Van Allen, Snow, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 at the Vassar-Rawls chapel, the Rev. F. M. Oliver officiating. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery.
