Lewiston Morning Tribune Wednesday, February 12, 1930 James Powers Summoned Well Known Indian Stricken with Apoplexy at Jackson Home Lapwai, Feb. 11. - James Power, 75, well known Nez Perce Indian, died from apoplexy at the home of William Jackson, near Lapwai, today. His home was at Craigmont. Powers is survived by a widow, one brother, William Powers, Kamiah, and a half-sister, Mrs. Elias Pond, of Spalding. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Moffett and the Rev. Mark Arthur from the Presbyterian church at Spalding Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. The body will rest in the Spalding cemetery. The Brower-Wann company, will have charge of arrangements. |
