Lewiston Morning Tribune Mon., April 26, 1948 Fred Powers, 60, Is Called By Death Fred Powers, 60, resident of Lewiston since 1910, died at St. Joseph's hospital at 10:05 a.m. yesterday. He had been hospitalized for two days with a heart ailment. Mr. Powers was born July 20, 1887, at Sanborn, Iowa. He came to Lewiston in 1910 with his family. In 1914 he married Bernice Duffers here. For 31 years he was an employee of the Lewiston Mercantile company and for six years worked for the Star Dray. He was a member of the Christian church. Surviving besides his wife are five brothers and four sisters. The brothers are Glenn of Moler, Iowa; Cliff, Lewiston; Don, Rex and Ralph, all of California. The sisters are Mrs. George Lynn, Nezperce; Mrs. Jack Kincaid and Mrs. Fay Waddington, both of Yakima, and Mrs. Ruth Mullnix, Chico, Calif. The body is at the Brower-Wann funeral home with arrangements pending. |
