Lewiston Morning Tribune Fri., May 17, 1946 George Popp Dead; Long Time Resident George W. Popp, 79, resident of Lewiston for more than 30 years and well known in central Idaho as a commercial traveler until illness forced his retirement about 15 years ago, died at his home at 401 13th St. yesterday afternoon. He had been bedridden since the early 1930s. He was born Feb. 26, 1867, at Ft. Wayne, Ind. He came here as representative of a confectionery concern and was active in the old traveling men's organization. Mrs. Popp died several years ago. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Stella Popp, New York City, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Arthur Meyers, Peck; and Mrs. Charles Rice, Opportunity, Wash. The body is at Brower-Wann chapel. Funeral arrangements are pending. |
