His papers identified him as single, and survived by foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Pickering of Lemmon, S. D. He formerly owned a tire repair business at Lemmon, and sold it in 1945, prior to coming to the western part of the United States.

Services Pending For Car Victim

Funeral services for Arthur W. Pickering, killed in truck-auto accident on the Lewiston hill Wednesday evening are pending on word from his foster father, James Pickering, Lemmon, S. D., Vassar-Rawls funeral home officials said yesterday.

Contact was made with the victim's father soon after the accident Wednesday evening, and he will make funeral arrangements from there.

Pickering, who would have been 39 years old yesterday, was killed instantly when the car he was driving collided with a 10 ton semi-trailer Ford truck on Lewiston hill at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Pickering, a mechanic at the McMonigle Chevrolet company here, was on his way to Spokane for the holidays.

He was born in Macon, Ill., July 4, 1907.

Pickering was a veteran of the late war, having served as technician third grade in the army. He was discharged in 1943.
