Lewiston Morning Tribune Friday, June 13, 1941 Mrs. Laura Parkins Summoned By Death Mrs. Laura Parkins, 75, wife of C. C. (Montie) Parkins, pioneer of Lapwai, died at her home shortly before 3 o'clock yesterday morning of heart disease after a brief illness. Mr. Parkins, farmer of that area for 35 years, has been critically ill at his home for the last few weeks. Mrs. Parkins, born in Dalson county, Penna., Aug. 22, 1865, came to Nez Perce county in 1906. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Vention Bailey and Mrs. Roy Calkins, both of Lapwai; one brother, David Fulmer, Ottumwa, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. A. M. Ryan, Colfax, and Mrs. May Russell, Creston, Iowa; also four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Sunday from the Brower-Wann chapel. Interment will be at Normal Hill cemetery. |
