Lewiston Morning Tribune Thurs., Sept. 23, 1948 Hollis E. Packwood, Area Pioneer, Dead Hollis Eastman Packwood, former mill worker and a lifetime resident of Lewiston and vicinity, died at 10:30 last night at St. Joseph's hospital after an illness of four months. He was born June 9, 1877, at Yakima, and was brought here by his parents when he was still an infant. He was married to Bessie King at Lewiston Oct. 10, 1908. He retired in July, 1945. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Keith Carpenter of Big Sur, Calif., Raymone E. of Kalispell, Mont., Clarence L., of Lewiston, W. Harold of Albany, Ore., and Mrs. Lloyd Clauser of Lewiston; two sisters, Mrs. Glen McIntosh of Lewiston and Mrs. William Williams of Seattle; and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Packwood was a communicant of the First Christian church of Lewiston. The body is at the Brower-Wann funeral home with arrangements to be announced later. |
