Lewiston Morning Tribune Wed., Dec. 24, 1952 Frieda L. Nelson, 63, Succumbs To Cancer Mrs. Frieda L. Nelson, 63, wife of Carl Nelson, Lewiston blacksmith, died at 1:30 yesterday afternoon at her home. Death was attributed to cancer, from which she had suffered for the last two years. Mrs. Nelson was born Feb. 17, 1889, at Carrol, Iowa, and moved with her parents in 1892 to Cottonwood. As a young woman, Mrs. Nelson was queen of the Cottonwood Stock Show one year. She was married to Carl Nelson at Lewiston on March 17, 1914. Mrs. Nelson's four sons were all prominent athletes at Lewiston High School and, with her husband, she followed their careers very closely. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Nelson is survived by her four sons, Bob, Portland; Tom, Moscow; Monte and Clark, both of Lewiston; two daughters, Mrs. Mary McDonald and Mrs. Joann Yochum, both of Lewiston; her step-mother, Mrs. Dora Brust, Great Falls, Mont.; two brothers, Roy Brust, Polson, Mont., and Bill Brust, Portland; a sister, Mrs. Earl Miller, Lewiston, and 15 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Brower-Wann Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Hovey as officiant. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery. |
