Lewiston Morning Tribune Thursday, March 20, 1924 Mrs. Harriet A. Mudge Dead Beloved Clarkston Woman Be Laid to Rest in Lewiston Tomorrow Mrs. Harriet A. Mudge, who resided at Eighth and Libby streets, quietly passed away yesterday morning at the family home. She was apparently in her usual health and her sudden death came entirely unexpected by her family and friends. The day previous to her death she attended a meeting of the Presbyterian ladies aid and in her usual quiet manner she added much to the enjoyment of the members. Throughout her life Mrs. Mudge devoted much of her time to the task of making others happy. She was dearly loved by all her neighbors and friends. Mrs. Mudge was born in Worchester, Mass., Nov. 28, 1851. On October 27, 1875, she was married to Roy P. Mudge at Proctorsville, Vt., and moved to Lewiston in 1879, where they resided until about 15 years ago when they made their residence on Eighth street, in Clarkston. She taught several years in the public schools during the time she resided in Lewiston. Of the two children who were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mudge, Waldo R., who was with his mother at the time of her death, survives her. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. E. M. Locke of Southwick, Idaho, and two brothers, W. H. Thompson of Glendale, Cal., and S. Leslie Thompson of Lewiston. The funeral will be held at the Merchant chapel Friday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. Duncan Matheson of the Presbyterian church conducting the services. The body will be laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Lewiston cemetery. |
