C. T. Moore Falls 40 Feet To Death

Kamiah Resident Plunges to Bottom of Cesspool When Apparently Seized With Heart Attack.

Kamiah, Jan. 12 - Carl T. Moore, 45, well-known resident of this community, was apparently seized with a heart attack and fell to his death down a 40-foot cesspool here this afternoon.

The cesspool was being dug at the rear of William Carter's beer parlor. Working at the 40-foot level, Moore called to Ed Helt that he was ready to ascend. Helt lowered the rope and with the assistance of another man drew Moore to the surface, Moore holding the rope in both hands with one foot braced in a loop. When he reached the surface and started to step to the ground he suddenly reeled and fell backward. His foot was still in the loop and, while he was hanging head down with Helt and his companion trying to effect a rescue, Helt's [Moore's] foot slipped from the loop and he plunged downward and landed on his head.

Before moving to Kamiah, Moore was engaged in the warehouse business at Pardee and owned a farm at that town.

Names of Survivors.

Mr. Moore is survived by a widow; five children, Alice, Dorothy, Flora, Theodore and John; a mother, Mrs. Lily Moore, and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. H. P. Linton, Alice Moore, Theodore Moore, all of Washington, D. C., and a sister at Chicago, Mrs. Carl Wynne.

Funeral services will be held at Kamiah tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock, the Rev. G. P. Keeling officiating. The body will be taken to Lewiston where a committal service will be held at Normal Hill cemetery at 2:30 o'clock. Arrangements are in charge of Brower-Wann.
