M'Kinney, 85, Pioneer, Is Called In Hardware Business At Prairie Town Since 1900; Funeral Services Be Friday; Interment At Lewiston Cottonwood, June 19 - George F. McKinney, 85, pioneer hardware dealer of central Idaho, founder of the Cottonwood Hardware company and a leading citizen of this community, passed away at 9 o'clock tonight from paralysis. His health had been failing for about four years. Mr. McKinney came to Idaho from Goldendale, Wash., in 1899 and located at Grangeville, moving to Cottonwood soon after. While not actively engaged in business at the time of his last illness, he still retained his interest in the company he founded. He was born at Salina, Mich., Dec. 9, 1849. He is survived by a widow, two sons and a daughter, Fred McKinney, deput collector of the internal revenue, and Mrs. Lois Stacy, Lewiston, and Roy McKinney, Portland. Mr. McKinney was a member of the Masonic order. Funeral services will be held in Cottonwood Friday and the body taken to Lewiston for interment. |
