Lewiston Morning Tribune Saturday, February 17, 1940 Lepha McIntosh, 68, Summoned By Death Mrs. Lepha Ellen McIntosh, 68, widow of Kenneth McIntosh, died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday at her home in Palo Alto, Calif. Mrs. McIntosh, born at Clifton, N. Y., July 21, 1871, came west in 1895 with her brother-in-law and sister, the Rev. and Mrs. William Smith. She taught in the schools at Asotin, Anatone and Jerry. Her marriage to Mr. McIntosh, who died four years ago, took place March 1, 1900. After leaving Asotin county she resided in Tammany and later in Lewiston Orchards. Mr. McIntosh was an extensive farmer of the Lewiston country. Mrs. McIntosh is survived by four children, Ira McIntosh, Tammany; Miss Florine McIntosh, Moscow, both of whom left for Palo Alto yesterday; Mrs. Charlotte Barkley, Asotin, and Miss Margery McIntosh, Palo Alto, who will return with her brother and sister accompanying the body. Other survivors include two brothers and two sisters in the east and four grandsons. She was a lift-long member of the Presbyterian church. The body will arrive at Lewiston tomorrow morning and will be taken to the Brower-Wann funeral home. Burial arrangements have not been made. |
