Lewiston Morning Tribune Monday, May 3, 1926 Lettie McCormick Dead. Member of Prominent Nez Perce Indian Family Succumbs. Lapwai, May 2. - Lottie, 17-year-old daughter of Joseph and Anne McCormick, prominent Nez Perce Indians of the Lapwai community, died at midnight Saturday, following a prolonged illness. She was born and raised near Lapwai and was a student at Lapwai high school. She was a granddaughter of the late Judge Grant, an Indian scout of early days. She is survived by her parents and two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Lizzie Luton of Pendleton, Mrs. Rena Allen, and Harry and Levi, of Lapwai. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lapwai Methodist church, with Rev. E. J. Connor in charge. The burial will be made at the old Grand homestead near Lapwai. The arrangements are by the Brower-Wann company of Lewiston. |
