Lewiston Morning Tribune Sunday, December 27, 1942 Cort J. McConnell, 67, Idaho street, died at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's hospital, death being attributed to a heart attack. He was received at the institution a few hours in advance of death. For the last week he had complained of a stomach disorder. A native of Iowa, born Oct. 11, 1875, Mr. McConnell came west 33 years (ago) and engaged in farming with his brother, Merlin R. McConnell, at Melrose. He retired in 1936 and since made his home at Lewiston. He was unmarried. He was active in community work while residing at Melrose and served the district as school trustee. He was a member of the Yeoman lodge. Survivors are two brothers, Merlin R. McConnell, Melrose, and Elmer McConnell, San Diego, Calif.; his sister, Mrs. Anna Decker, Spokane, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Vassar-Rawls chapel with funeral arrangements pending. |
